The Magical World of Lynnlee Forest

My mother, Elizabeth Kercher, had enjoyed writing all her life. However, as happens with many people, life seemed to get in the way of her writing. She did continue to write, but only as a hobby. She wrote poems, short stories, and everyday observations.

 

In the late 90s, she wrote a short story that combined her love of nature and animals. She imagined all of the animals living and playing in a world where magic happens - LynnLee Forest. LynnLee Forest only existed in the imagination of my mother. She named the forest after her two granddaughters, Lynn and Lee.

 

I found her story and decided to get it out there for families to share the magic she envisioned. The Magical World Of LynnLee Forest is about a baby bunny, Newton. Newton teaches his brothers and sisters lessons about life. Through the story, my mother passes the lessons on the children who hear or read this story.

 

On a personal note, my mother was not a professional writer. She wrote what she felt and what she loved. This story was important to her. When I read it, I understood why. I decided to put the images into the story, to add a bit of reality. But, the words are all her words. The feelings are all her feelings. I may have added a comma or two, but that was it.
